 Joe Austen is a writer, artist, illustrator, producer, director and creative consultant with an extensive and varied professional career, who has originated, developed and produced portfolios of creative properties, concepts, formats and characters for publishing, television, digital media, art markets and other media.

His Creative Portfolios include Tall Tales, The Magic House, The Story Store, The Opperros Archives, YumYums, Bud, Egos, Atoz and other concepts and properties.

He has created, written and illustrated several bestselling series of children’s books, created and written more than a hundred television programmes for the BBC and the ITV Network, created, written, produced and directed animated television series, and established a media company with Lord Richard Attenborough as Company President.

As a consultant he has originated and developed creative properties and concepts for Polygram, Carlton, STV Group, BBC, ITV Network, Scottish Enterprise, D C Thomson, HarperCollins, Rolex, Ove Arup, BT, TSB, RBS, NCR and other corporate clients.

His original oil painted portraits of golf’s greatest champions are exhibited in collections throughout the world, including The Austen Collection, which is permanently exhibited in Rusacks St Andrews Scotland, beside the 18th Fairway of St Andrews Old Course, paying tribute to the greats of golf in The Heart of The Home of Golf.
